The Men’s Shed Support Little Ollie
Caerau Men Shed “Grumpy Old Gits” Box which monies are donated by the individual members, have once again helped another cause in the community of Caerau.
Ollie Sheran, who suffered a stroke when he was age 3, is now age 7 and needs speech therapy. Speech therapy costs money, so the Shedcases saved up out of their own pockets the sum of £150 and presented Ollie’s family a cheque for that amount to help with costs.
As chairman of The Caerau Men Shed I am very proud of my members they have done this many times now, they havent much themselves but still they give to help others!
A wonderfull buffet was presented by Graham Dawe, Janice Dawe and the awsome volunteers at CDT.
Pob lwc Ollie Sheran and family from The Shedcases!
A Poem for Ollie
Our resident poet has composed a poem for your Ollie.
The Courage of Ollie
Was on a February day
A caerau house went wild
This was a special time
Birth of their Second Child
A little boy, so very sweet
And Ollie was his name
He lay so calm and peaceful
In life, he would find fame.
But his fame wasn’t happy
Not for this little bloke
He was probably the youngest
To have a massive stroke
He was only in his third year
When this disaster struck
How could a little lad so young
Suffer such bad luck
From hospital to hospital
For treatment Ollie went
Bridgend to Heath in Cardiff
Then London he was sent
But he was not progressing
His future looked very dim
The family were worried
What would become of him
But no one had considered
The courage of this Lad
With help and his will power
It didn’t seem quite so bad
Now he is in school once more
Playing with other boys
And arguing with his brother
About who has the best toys
